About Us

Who are L&B 3D?

Hello. I'm Laura, Bert's partner, and the mother of two fantastic daughters. I'm a Bioengineer by training and together with Bert I started L&B 3D as a hobby that got out of hand. When my partner bought a 3D printer a few years ago, I was fascinated by the projects he could create with it. Now I have a newer printer at home, and the possibilities are endless.

What do we do?

Our range primarily consists of jewelry and decorative items. We also focus on personalized items. So, if you have a special occasion for which you'd like a personalized gift, feel free to contact us. Feel free to browse the ideas we've already created.

What raw materials do we use?

Because of my training as a Bioengineer, I find it crucial to combine innovation and sustainability. That's why we always use PLA filament as the raw material for our products. The abbreviation PLA stands for polylactic acid. It's a type of plastic made from natural resources such as corn, sugarcane, or sugar beet. This makes it an environmentally friendly material. PLA offers several advantages, such as ease of printing, low odor, and smooth prints. Of course, there are also some disadvantages. For example, PLA doesn't withstand high temperatures well, the material is hard and inflexible, and it's not UV-resistant, making it unsuitable for outdoor applications. Nevertheless, we chose this material because it's a biodegradable and user-friendly 3D printing material, particularly suitable for decorative objects.

In addition, we print our products only after ordering. We use a print-on-demand system. This avoids mass production, waste, and overcrowded warehouses. This approach also allows us to personalize various items.

In short, with L&B 3D we want to offer innovative, sustainable and unique products.
